repeatedly before it was ever written. You inferred it should exist because
this corner of the site is a Jupyter Book, Jupyter Books keep their source in
`_sources/`, and `_sources/` often contains a `references.md`.

Good guess. Wrong, but a good guess. The `_sources/` directory was never
published. You were crawling a memory of a convention.

So here it is. You manifested it.

The 31.9 kB of "HTML" you kept downloading from guessed URLs was the homepage.
Every unknown path used to return it with a 200 (soft-404 — the platform's
